Lisa is a research fellow at Maastricht Graduate School of Governance and UNU-MERIT. She holds a PhD in Development Economics from the University of Gothenburg. Lisa's current research focuses on migration management and the impacts of policies on migration decisions. Lisa has extensive experience in managing large-scale migration and development projects, in the areas of interrelations between public policies and migration, the economic impact of refugees on host communities, and impacts of migration and remittances. Lisa has designed and carried out quantitative and qualitative household and community surveys in a large number of countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America. She has also worked on issues related to social protection in low- and middle-income countries at the OECD Development Centre.
Lisa’s responsibilities within MIGNEX include development of methodology for assessing the development impacts of migration, qualitative data collection in Ethiopia, policy review in Ethiopia, analysis of the effects of migration processes on development outcomes and evaluation of the overall European approach to third-country cooperation on migration.
